Q.    What Therapies does RAMS provide?

A.    RAMS provides five main therapies: Hyperbaric Oxygen, Physio, Flowtron, Electromagnetic Stimulation and Vibration.

Q.    Does RAMS only treat Multiple Sclerosis?

A.    No. RAMS treats many diseases and disorders - in the main: Multiple Sclerosis, Stroke, Neurological Conditions, Cerebral Palsy,  Arthritis, Respiratory Diseases, Circulatory Disorders, Fibromyalgia, Wounds, Sports Injuries and Myalgic Encephalopathy (ME).

Q.    What is Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy?

A.    Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is used to treat conditions caused by inadequate oxygen in the body or to speed up the healing of injuries or infections by increasing the amount of oxygen in the body's tissues. The treatment consists of breathing in pure oxygen (100%) through a face mask or mouth piece whilst sitting normally and comfortably in a chamber which is increased to a predefined pressure for a period of time ranging between 60 and 120 minutes. Q.    What is Flowtron Therapy?

A.    Flowtron Therapy is a clinically effective, non-invasive therapy which uses intermittent pneumatic compression (IPC) to treat a wide variety of vascular, circulatory and lymphatic conditions. For more information click here.

Q.    What is Electromagnetic Stimulation Therapy?

A.    Electromagnetic Stimulation Therapy produces gentle, low induction impulses which help to stimulate and rejuvenate the cells in the body. This can lead to improved health and well-being. For more information click here.

Q.    What is Vibrotherapy?

A.    Vibration therapy uses whole-body-vibration to enhance physical health and well-being. It has been around for over 20 years and is now widely accepted in the fields of physiotherapy, rehabilitation and sports medicine for the treatment of different illnesses and injuries. Q.    Do I continue with my medication when having any of RAMS therapies?

A.    Yes. You must follow your doctor's/consultant's prescriptions and recommendations

Q.    Do I need my doctor's consent to have any of the RAMS therapies?

A.    Yes.  Permission from your doctor or consultant is required before treatment begins.

Q.     How long does the treatment take?

A.    The time allocated for each treatment and the number of times the treatment is required varies, depending on the condition being treated and the therapy or therapies to be used. This will be explained prior to the commencement of the treatment.
